St Vincent procures and provides learning devices for students

The Republic of China-Taiwan continues to assist St Vincent and the Grenadines with learning devices for students, this time with the donation of 3,000 laptops.   

According to the Agency for Public Information (API), approximately 1,000 first year students of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Community College and 1,500 fifth-form students of secondary schools are expected to receive ASUS Laptops Chrome Books from the Republic of China-Taiwan.  

A handing-over ceremony was held last week.  

Minister of Finance Camillo Gonsalves said the government remains committed to providing quality education and modern devices to enhance students’ learning and proper Information Technology (IT) support for both students and teachers.  

Taiwan’s Ambassador to St Vincent and the Grenadines, Peter Sha-Li Lan said Taiwan remains committed to St Vincent and the Grenadines and its development.  

The handing over of laptops represents the fourth set of IT learning devices provided by the government of St Vincent and the Grenadines to students over the past two decades.
