Must read

A hybrid meeting of the Global Government Forum (GGF) and the Caribbean Telecommunications Union (CTU) is being planned for October 16th to the 20th in Barbados, to discuss opportunities and challenges of public sector digital transformation.

The meeting which would be held under the theme ‘Embracing a Digital Caribbean: Opportunities for Growth and Innovation’, is expected to provide a platform for the exchange of ideas that bring together stakeholders from various sectors in the Caribbean and beyond, including government officials, industry leaders, technology experts, academics, and representatives from regional and international organisations.

Kevin Sorkin, Founder and Chief Executive of Pendragon International Media Ltd, which publishes GGF and organises the Caribbean Digital Summit said, “GGF is proud to launch the inaugural Caribbean Digital Summit and co-locate the event with CTU’s ICT Week.

“Together we will provide the essential programme of events and activities for the region’s digital leaders to help their transformation and further improve delivery for citizens,” Sorkin said adding that “we can’t wait to share the interim results of our study of digital transformation in the region and look forward to welcoming the region’s government CIOs for a valuable, successful and effective discussion.”

Rodney Taylor, secretary General of CTU, welcomed the aligning of the events and stated that “the collaboration with the Government of Barbados and the Global Government Forum marks a significant milestone for the Caribbean region’s digital development.

“By combining the Caribbean Digital Summit with the CTU’s ICT Week, we are creating a powerful platform to propel digital transformation and innovation forward,” Taylor said, adding that, “together, we will empower our digital leaders to address challenges and embrace opportunities, ultimately enhancing the lives of our citizens and driving progress throughout the region.”
