Antigua Airways’ inaugural flight from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport in Nigeria to the V C Bird International Airport is expected to take place today.
Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne shared the flight schedule for the inaugural journey on social media yesterday.
“They said it could not be done. Once again, they were proven wrong. Antigua Airways lands tomorrow!” Browne wrote on Facebook.
Flight YU619, which is operated as a special charter by Euroatlantic Airways for Antigua Airways, is set to leave Lagos at 4:20 am and arrive in St John’s at 1:30 pm.
Euroatlantic Airways will be using a Boeing 767-300 to fly the route.
The Euroatlantic Airways aircraft will then depart Antigua for Lisbon, Portugal on November 2.
The return flight from Antigua leaves at 7:50 pm on November 7 and arrives in Lagos at 5 am the following day.
