PLANNING FOR CES 2022

CES 2022 is returning to Las Vegas for a live, in-person event. Over 1100 companies including major brands and start-ups will be in Las Vegas January 5-8. We remain focused on bringing you the most influential tech event in the world.

Safety, security and health are a priority at CES. We will continue to evaluate and expand our health safety protocols as medical recommendations evolve. We will update this page regularly as protocols change so you know what to expect when you arrive in Las Vegas for CES.

Las Vegas opened its doors to tradeshows in June and we’ve have been adapting our plans based on new and evolving information for events. Travel and events have changed and so has CES. We want to ensure CES continues to help you make the connections you need to meet your customers, grow your business and your brand.  PROOF OF COVID-19 VACCINATION REQUIRED

All attendees and exhibitors will need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination in order to attend CES in Las Vegas.  Attendees and exhibitors will need to be fully vaccinated with a vaccine approved or approved for emergency use by the FDA or World Health Organization (WHO). A list of approved vaccines can be found here.

CES will use CLEAR to administer proof of vaccination for U.S. based attendees. CLEAR’s free mobile app and Health Pass feature provides a simple and secure way for this information to be shared. For non-U.S. based attendees, we will use a similar, 3rd party platform to submit proof of vaccination. We will share more information on this in October.

CTA continues to monitor guidelines for health safety measures from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Nevada and Clark County. CTA will follow applicable federal, state and local laws, adapting CES plans accordingly and sharing updates with you and other CES audiences. We are also working closely with the Las Vegas community, including the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, exhibit venues and hotels, and if they adjust their plans, we will communicate that as well. While the situation will continue to evolve over the coming months, read the information below for just some of the precautions we will implement.

Health Screenings and Services

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to attend CES 2022 in Las Vegas. Details on the process can be found below.
  • CTA is also assessing the acceptance of proof of a positive antibody test as an alternative requirement and will share more details on this in the coming weeks.
  • Wearing Masks – We will follow state and local guidelines and recommendations by the CDC.  Masks are currently required in all public, indoor spaces in Las Vegas. CTA will continue to monitor and evaluate the situation, and additional protocols will be announced closer to the show.
  • CES will provide on-site access to health services and medical aid.

Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination Process

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination will be required to attend CES in Las Vegas.
  • CES will use CLEAR to administer proof of vaccination for U.S. based attendees. CLEAR’s free mobile app and Health Pass feature provides a simple and secure way for this information to be shared.
  • U.S. based attendees will download the CLEAR app from the iOS or Android app store, upload their CDC card or proof of vaccination to their Health Pass within CLEAR and will then present the QR code in order to collect their badge at CES.
  • For non-U.S. based attendees, we will use a similar, 3rd party platform to submit proof of vaccination. We will share more information on this in October.
  • Additional guidance on how to utilize the CLEAR Health Pass to gain admittance to CES will be provided in the coming weeks.
  • Answers to frequently asked questions about the proof of COVID-19 vaccination process can be found here

 Healthy Venues

  • The Las Vegas Convention Center, Mandalay Bay and The Venetian Expo (formerly Sands Expo) have been awarded the Global Biorisk Advisory Council GBAC STAR™ certification by ISSA. This accreditation means the properties are using cleaning protocols and work practices to minimize risks associated with infectious disease.
  • CES official exhibit venues have improved their ventilation systems and increased outside air flow.

Conference Area and Meeting Spacing

  • Chairs will be set to allow social distancing. We will follow appropriate guidelines.
  • Meeting rooms and executive suite participants will be asked to follow show rules and local guidance with respect to social distancing.

Wider Aisles and One Directional Traffic

  • We’ve increased the width of many of the aisles on the show floors to help with social distancing.
  • The public areas and entry points at CES venues will respect social distancing and use one way traffic flow.

Food and Beverage Precautions

  • Catering and concession outlets in CES venues will follow health and safety precautions including adequate spacing to promote social distancing and provide pre-packaged food options.

Healthy Habits

  • Hand sanitization stations will be placed throughout CES venues to encourage frequent hand sanitization.
  • We will issue best practices for attendees that include avoiding shaking hands and how exhibitors can best manage product demonstrations.

This is just a sample of the initiatives currently underway – others are under consideration. We will continue to provide updates to exhibitors and attendees.
