Microsoft Security Tour: Training Data Protection Experts

Must read

Licencias OnLine is carrying out the Microsoft Security Tour – Data Protection Ninja Training, an event already held in Peru and Colombia, and which will continue over the coming months in other countries to strengthen partners’ cybersecurity skills across the region.

Microsoft Security Tour – Data Protection Ninja Training by Licencias OnLine is part of a regional tour. It has already taken place in Peru and Colombia and will arrive in other countries in the region such as Argentina, Paraguay, Mexico, and Costa Rica in the coming months. Its main objective is to evangelize around the security technologies and products that Microsoft currently offers.

According to Juan Francisco Tapia, Pre-Sales Lead at Licencias OnLine, “the event seeks to turn channels into true cybersecurity ‘Ninjas,’ combining knowledge, practice, and strategies that make a difference in today’s market.”

The Value Proposition of Microsoft in Security

Microsoft has achieved significant growth in security solutions, offering all types of customers the ability to enable advanced capabilities to contain the growing wave of cyber threats.

“The strategy focuses on giving customers advanced functionality natively embedded in solutions such as email and collaboration, protecting against malware, phishing, and identity spoofing,” Tapia explained. “This protection is vital for organizations of any size in an increasingly attacked world.”

Microsoft’s investment in security is substantial, reaching 2 trillion dollars annually. This investment, according to the executive, “ensures end-to-end protection capacity, with a holistic vision where technologies can communicate with each other and share cybersecurity signals.”

This means that if something happens on a device, email, or application, these alerts or incidents can be shared to enable extended detection capacity, all unified through a single portal to provide a much more advanced service.

Artificial Intelligence and Proactive Protection

Artificial Intelligence is a fundamental pillar in Microsoft’s security solutions. Matías Lapido, Microsoft Product Manager at the distributor, explained: “Microsoft’s various security solutions are integrated through Sentinel, its SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), which acts as a brain. Together with Artificial Intelligence, it can elevate security to the next level.”

“AI integration is carried out through Security Copilot, which interprets signals received by Sentinel from all areas of a company (servers, databases, users, emails),” he continued. “Copilot helps analyze these signals proactively, reactively during an attack, and continuously evaluates a customer’s infrastructure for improvements.”

According to Lapido, the goal is clear: “To be much more proactive and work in function of protection rather than reacting to an attack. Prevention costs less.” This protection is not limited to Microsoft’s infrastructure but also extends to “other OS and clouds.”

Licencias OnLine’s Support for Partners

According to Tapia, Licencias OnLine plays a crucial role as a value-added distributor, helping partners differentiate themselves in a competitive market beyond just price.

“One common challenge for partners is implementing advanced security policies such as DLP (Data Loss Prevention) or data governance,” Tapia explained. To address this, Licencias OnLine promotes “basic cybersecurity hygiene, configuring a baseline security for customers.”

For this, tools like Secure Score are used to detect improvements in digital assets and Compliance Manager for data protection and governance. These provide visibility into behavior and easy-to-apply recommendations.

As a value-added distributor, Licencias OnLine provides support, training, workshops, proofs of concept, and architecture design to deliver the best cost-benefit security solution to customers—“how to do more with less with the investments they already have,” Tapia explained.

Lapido added: “Licencias OnLine prioritizes value-added usage, helping partners ensure that customers use 100% of the solution, since often customers use less than 50% of what they purchase. To achieve this, partners and customers are supported as a single work cell, together with Microsoft’s team.”

“Our value-added approach and methodology are what help us stand out. The goal is for our channels to adopt Microsoft as their security vendor, offering native tools to protect infrastructure, whether Microsoft or other OS and clouds,” the executive concluded, inviting partners and customers in the region to get in touch.
