Microsoft launches new security suites: focus on license consolidation and cost reduction

From Licencias OnLine, the benefits of the new SKUs are analyzed, and some key points are shared so that the channel can drive its business through their commercialization.

Microsoft has introduced three new security suites to the market that function as add-ons for its Microsoft 365 Business Premium environment. In this regard, Juan Francisco Tapia, Presales Engineer at Licencias OnLine, analyzes the technical and commercial scope of these launches, which are designed to optimize threat management and regulatory compliance for companies.

The new offerings presented by the brand consist of three specific packages: Microsoft Defender Suite, Microsoft Purview Suite, and Microsoft Defender and Purview Suites. As Tapia explains, the objective of these launches is to centralize the technology offering. “These suites group advanced protection, compliance, and data governance capabilities, and are designed to simplify the acquisition and management of licenses,” he states.

One of the central points of the proposal is economic efficiency for end customers. Tapia points out that this model allows companies to access enterprise-grade security and compliance tools at a significantly reduced cost compared to purchasing individual licenses. “The adoption of these suites can represent up to 68% savings compared to purchasing independent licenses,” he highlights.

In terms of security, the solutions offer protection against threats across devices, email, identities, and applications, including defense against ransomware, phishing, and advanced AI-powered attacks.

Integration and automation

The architecture of the new SKUs prioritizes platform unification. Tapia indicates that the suites are designed to integrate natively with Microsoft 365 Business Premium and the rest of the Microsoft ecosystem. This integration ranges from identity security with Entra ID to data protection with Purview and cloud security.

The executive also emphasizes the importance of automation in incident response. Through Microsoft Defender XDR, the system correlates incidents across domains for a faster and more effective response. Likewise, administration is carried out centrally from the Microsoft 365 portals, facilitating operation and monitoring for IT and security teams.

The role of the channel and the target market

For business partners, Licencias OnLine’s recommendation is to focus the commercial strategy on consolidation. Tapia suggests explaining the savings and simplification involved in acquiring integrated suites versus individual products. In addition, he urges the channel to highlight comprehensive protection by showing how all attack vectors are covered, including identity, endpoint, and SaaS.

The segment targeted by these products is defined by the size and prior infrastructure of customers. “The suites are designed primarily for organizations of up to 300 users that already have Microsoft 365 Business Premium as a prerequisite,” Tapia details.

To support commercialization, Licencias OnLine has made training resources available to deepen knowledge of these new capabilities, such as playbooks and specific guides for the channel; technical blogs and communities; webinars and online training; official courses; and dedicated security and compliance sites.
