On December 5, 2025, TD SYNNEX together with its strategic partner VPA hosted an exclusive event at the Pegasus Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana, bringing together potential clients for the official presentation of the latest solutions within the IBM portfolio. The gathering combined technological innovation, strategic vision, and key networking opportunities for the region’s business ecosystem.
The event began with a series of technical presentations highlighting the importance of resilience, automation, and modernization in IT infrastructure. Attendees later enjoyed a networking session and closing cocktail, providing an ideal space for exchanging insights and exploring new business opportunities.
Cyber Resiliency and Data Protection: A Top IBM Priority
The first presentation was delivered by Colin Lynch, Storage Solutions Architect – Canada & Caribbean, who introduced IBM Storage for Data Resiliency. Lynch outlined the core principles of cyber resiliency—early detection, immutability, isolation, granularity, and performance—and emphasized the need for solutions capable of responding to and recovering quickly from cyber incidents.
He detailed data protection workflows based on immutable storage and advanced threat detection, along with technologies such as IBM Safeguarded Copy, which automates the creation of tamper-proof backups to defend against ransomware. Lynch also explained IBM’s AI-driven anomaly detection, which uses Shannon entropy to identify suspicious behavior without compromising system performance.
Additional highlights included hardware innovation—such as comparisons between NVMe FCM and NVMe SSD—the use of IBM Storage Sentinel for recovery point validation, and IBM’s Security & Resilience Assessments aligned with frameworks like NIST and EU DORA.
IBM Expands Its Presence in the Caribbean with a Two-Tier Distribution Model
The second presentation, led by Maxime Pereira, Vendor Strategy Manager – IBM Caribbean TD SYNNEX, covered the IBM Caribbean Tier 2 Partner Business Model, which structures the relationship between IBM, distributors, partners, and customers.
Pereira highlighted IBM’s 67-year history in the Caribbean and explained that the two-tier model—implemented in October 2024—aims to broaden coverage, accelerate growth, and enhance customer satisfaction.
He also presented IBM’s robust portfolio, which includes infrastructure solutions, hybrid cloud, automation, and data management technologies designed to optimize the technology lifecycle. TD SYNNEX reaffirmed its strong presence in the region, with operations in 10 countries across the Caribbean and Central America, a network of over 1,500 active resellers, and annual revenue reaching $200 million, 72% of which is driven by value-added business.
AI-Driven Automation: Boosting Productivity, Resilience, and Cost Efficiency
The technical segment concluded with a presentation by Richard Lee, Automation Technical Specialist – IBM, who explained how AI-powered IT automation helps organizations address today’s infrastructure and operational challenges.
Lee emphasized that automation is central to managing applications, networks, and cloud environments in a context where architectural changes are increasing and skilled talent is becoming scarce. He highlighted solutions such as IBM Apptio, which optimizes technology investments and accelerates IT delivery; IBM Cloudability, which provides full visibility into cloud spending; and IBM Verify, which strengthens identity security at a time when 71% of attacks leverage valid credentials.
He also showcased the capabilities of IBM Instana, which offers real-time observability and reduces mean time to resolution (MTTR) by 52%, and IBM SevOne, which enables automated network management to minimize errors and speed up troubleshooting.
