In response to the damage caused by Hurricane Melissa in Jamaica, the Dominican Government, in collaboration with the airline Arajet, has organized free humanitarian flights to repatriate Dominican citizens affected by the storm.
The first flight is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, departing Kingston at 11:00 a.m. and arriving in Santo Domingo at 1:30 p.m. Each repatriation request will be individually reviewed by the Dominican Embassy in Jamaica to ensure a transparent and orderly process. A second flight is planned for Tuesday, while passengers traveling to or from Jamaica may reschedule their trips within 15 days at no additional cost.
The Embassy and its Consular Section have activated emergency contact lines to assist citizens. Both the Dominican Government and Arajet reaffirmed their commitment to protecting Dominicans abroad, emphasizing coordinated efforts to provide immediate aid to those affected by the hurricane.
