Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, Stuart R. Young, SC met with United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio for bilateral discussions in Jamaica today.
A statement from the Office of the Prime Minister says the talks focused on several issues of mutual interest, including national security, trade and energy.
The OPM statement says the discussions were productive with both parties emphasizing the importance of the relationship between both countries and pledging to deepen ties.
Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Senator Dr Amery Browne also attended the meeting.
Prior to the meeting, Young joined Prime Minister of Barbados, Mia Mottley, for a meeting with Fritz Alphonse Jean, Chair of the Transitional Presidential Council of Haiti, ahead of their respective bilateral meetings with US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio. Also present was Minister of Foreign and CARICOM Affairs, Senator Dr Amery Browne.
