Barbados | Access To Tax Clearance Certificate On Land Tax Portal

Must read

Land Tax Clearance Certificates are now available in the Land Tax portal once all land tax obligations have been settled.

The Barbados Revenue Authority (the Authority) announced that with the introduction of this new feature on the portal, property owners or their authorised agents have self-service access to their Land Tax Clearance Certificate, which can be automatically generated once there are no outstanding amounts owing on the property.

Revenue Commissioner, Louisa Lewis-Ward, stated that this feature eliminates the need for manual applications and is part of the Authority’s ongoing thrust to provide greater convenience, faster processing, and improved service delivery.

“We launched the land tax portal two years ago, providing persons with the ability to view and pay their land tax bills online, and we have seen continued growth in the use of this option. With this new feature, property owners no longer need to complete and submit an application form for a Land Tax Clearance Certificate. As soon as all outstanding taxes are settled, the certificate is available online for download in the portal. This makes the process smoother and more efficient,” Mrs. Lewis-Ward explained.

“Continuous improvement remains at the forefront of the Authority’s initiatives and the upcoming month will see the introduction of the vehicle registration disc, small business registration and single registration portals.  A focus on the ease of doing business and delivering on this mandate of the Government of Barbados remains our focus.”

To access the Land Tax Clearance Certificate online, property owners or their authorised agents should register and log in to the Land Tax portal at https://bill.bra.gov.bb, where the clearance certificate will be available for download once all taxes are settled.

March 31, 2025, closes out the Land Tax billing cycle for the period 2024-2025. The Authority reminds and encourages property owners with outstanding amounts for the year, to use the online service option to complete their transactions and download the clearance certificate.
