President Luis Abinader led a meeting of the National Salary Committee (CNS) where a 20% increase in the minimum wage for the non-sectorized private sector was announced. The raise will be implemented in two phases: a 12% increase starting April 1, 2025, followed by an 8% adjustment in February 2026.
Abinader emphasized that this agreement benefits all Dominicans and highlighted the expedited negotiation process, which concluded in just four weeks instead of the usual five to six months.
The wage increase applies to employees in large, medium, small, and micro-enterprises, ensuring improved earnings across the private sector. The government and labor representatives see this as a step toward better working conditions and economic growth.
