The National Council of Export Free Zones (CNZFE) has approved the establishment of 10 new free zone companies in its first ordinary session of the year, representing an estimated investment of US$37,573,435.72.
Daniel Liranzo, executive director of CNZFE, highlighted that the newly approved companies span various industries, including logistics services, aluminum component manufacturing, air filter production, cocoa processing, and tobacco marketing, strengthening the sector’s productivity.
The meeting, chaired by Industry and Commerce Minister Víctor “Ito” Bisonó, also revealed that these companies will generate 421 direct jobs and US$27.5 million in foreign currency, positively impacting the provinces of Santo Domingo, Santiago, San Cristóbal, and San Pedro de Macorís.
