Grenada | Government issues reminder on vehicle import age restriction

The Grenada government has issued an important reminder about the ongoing ban on importing older vehicles, emphasizing that the 2020 legislation remains actively enforced.

Under Statutory Rules and Orders (SRO) 43 of 2020, vehicles aged ten years or older cannot be imported into Grenada. The regulation, which took effect on July 1, 2020, continues to be strictly enforced at all ports of entry.

“To ensure compliance, imported vehicles must have a manufactured date that is less than 10 years old at the time of landing in Grenada. Importers are strongly advised to verify the vehicle’s manufactured date,” the Government Information Office said in a release.

Officials emphasized that non-compliant vehicles cannot be released from customs control under any circumstances.

To avoid financial loss and logistical complications, the government urged importers to conduct thorough due diligence before purchasing vehicles for import.
