The Government will be pursuing the development of an electronic Performance Monitoring and Evaluation System, as part of the ongoing public-sector transformation thrust, during fiscal year 2025/26.
This was disclosed by Custos Rotulorum for Kingston, Hon. Steadman Fuller, while delivering the Throne Speech during the 2025/26 Ceremonial Opening of Parliament at Gordon House on February 13.
Mr. Fuller, who deputised for Governor-General, His Excellency the Most Hon. Sir Patrick Allen, informed that the proposed system will standardise processes across government and facilitate real-time data access and enhance decision-making.
“As we continue our journey to implement a customer-centric ecosystem within the public sector, we are determined to improve public-sector efficiency, governance and accountability through innovative performance reporting systems,” he added.
Meanwhile, Mr. Fuller advised that the Public Sector Learning and Development Policy was launched, also as part of the ongoing transformation process.
“This initiative will enhance the capabilities of public servants, foster a culture of continuous learning, establish a Leadership Development Centre and create a dynamic and responsive public service that meets Jamaica’s evolving needs,” Custos Fuller stated.
The Throne Speech, which outlines the priority programmes and policies to be pursued by the Government in the new fiscal year, beginning April 1, was delivered under the theme ‘Jamaica’s Next Chapter: Aspiring to Greatness’.
