Must read

Travellers planning to visit Dominica towards the end of the year can expect more options to access the island. Winair announced the operation of more direct flights to Dominica beginning November 15.

The enhanced access includes direct flights from Barbados to Dominica three times weekly and connecting flights along the St Maarten to St Lucia route three times weekly.

The new route spells a significant boost in air access to Dominica, particularly for visitors from North America and Europe.

In a release, the airline said the improved access ensures that travellers have more options and flexibility when planning their trips to and from the island and is expected to boost visitor arrivals, supporting Dominica’s tourism industry and local economy.

CEO of Winair, Hans van de Velde said: “Winair is committed to expanding our Caribbean network and enhancing connectivity for our passengers. The addition of these new routes underscores our dedication to providing seamless and convenient travel experiences.”

Meantime, Director of Tourism, Marva Williams said Dominica is thrilled to see the expansion of new flights into the island. She said the announcement comes at a perfect time as Dominica gears up to launch its winter campaign.

She remarked: “With more frequent and convenient flights, travellers will have easier access to the unspoiled beauty of our island, whether they are seeking adventure or relaxation. Dominica offers unmatched natural beauty, rich cultural experiences, and warm hospitality, making it the ultimate escape.”
