Fedi Announces the Launch of World’s First Community Superapp

Fedi, Inc., a U.S. based developer of community-empowering financial and data technology, is launching the first full commercial release of the Fedi App at a virtual event on August 6th, at 10am ET, live-streamed at http://fedi.xyz

During the approximately thirty-minute event, members of the Fedi team will walk attendees through the app’s main features and discuss the inspirational stories around the world that inspired them. The livestream will present real-world use cases from the disempowered communities Fedi engages with throughout the Global South, highlighting the ways that Fedi can help them solve the real problems they face every day, while achieving their highest aspirations.

“Early this year, we rolled out Fedi Bravo,” said Fedi founder and CEO Obi Nwosu. “It was a developmental release for testing and improving functionality that let us build a community superapp in active collaboration with our dedicated community of builders, pioneers, and Bitcoin enthusiasts. Thanks to their amazing work, we are ready to launch Fedi for the entire world.”

Fedi aims to be the first ever Community Superapp–a single piece of software that can replace multiple legacy apps with safe and secure alternatives powered not by corporations, but communities. Fedi provides a flexible, accessible, and extensible way to store and transact money, chat securely, protect your data, and more, all with the goal of helping underserved populations take control of their digital lives.

With even the most basic smartphone, users can join federations, designed to be decentralised and to work best when built from real-world relationships of trust – from families or villages to cooperatives, collectives, nonprofits, and all manner of other organisations and affinity groups. It connects sophisticated freedom technologies like bitcoin, lightning, and fedimint with the most fundamental of all human technologies: community.

Federations help eliminate single points of failure, while keeping your money and data safe and secure.

Inspired by global humanitarian movements and committed to freedom, security, accessibility, extensibility, and the social good, Fedi can help millions, even billions, who aren’t being served by legacy institutions.

It’s time to level-up humanity.

“We have spent 2024 building and testing ways for Fedi to help solve real-world problems for some of the leading humanitarian and freedom organisations in the world,” said Nwosu. “We’ve learned an immense amount through these partnerships; they’ve been building with us, helping us reach underserved populations around the globe.”

Join us on August 6th, 2024, and help us Empower Communities Everywhere.
