Jamaica | TAJ to Discontinue Electronic Funds Transfer Service

Must read

Tax Administration Jamaica (TAJ) is advising the public that as at Friday, July 5, 2024, it is discontinuing the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) service via its online payment platform at jamaicatax.gov.jm.

This means, that as of July 5, taxpayers will no longer be able to use the EFT option currently available on TAJ’s website to electronically transfer funds directly from their bank account into the TAJ’s account via TAJ’s website.

Customers, who have been affected will be advised of the change, and provided with alternative payment options via the Authority’s web messaging service.

Taxpayers, who will be impacted by the change, are reminded that when conducting business with the Tax Authority they can make payments via several payment channels.

These are:

 Scotia Online and Mobile App for Scotiabank clientele, who are able to add TAJ as a Payee using their banking platform.

 Direct Funds Transfer from a local (Jamaican) bank account to Tax Administration Jamaica’s bank account for payment for business related taxes, such as Income Tax, Payroll Deductions, Stamp Duty and Transfer Tax.

Persons making payments using this method must follow the instructions for using the Direct Funds Transfer service at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.

 Using either a MasterCard or Visa credit card or banking card with credit card to pay via the TAJ website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.

Tax Administration Jamaica apologizes for any inconvenience this policy change may cause, as it continues to enhance and improve its revenue collection operations.

For further assistance persons may contact TAJ’s Customer Care Centre at 888.829.4357 from anywhere in the world, 1-888-GO-JA-TAX (1.888.465.2829) from the USA or visit our website at www.jamaicatax.gov.jm.
