Delta Airlines to launch new direct flights from Miami to Nassau

Must read

Delta Airlines will soon open a new route between the Miami International Airport and the Lynden Pindling International Airport in The Bahamas in November.

The Ministry of Tourism, Investments, and Aviation announced the new route on Friday.

It’s the first time Delta will operate direct flights from Miami into the Bahamian capital city. With this route, Delta Airlines will service Nassau this winter from the US cities of Atlanta, Boston, and New York.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investments, and Aviation, Chester Cooper said the additional airlift would aid in driving the Bahamian tourism market to attract a record number of visitors.

“This move is another demonstration of the incredible demand for the destination and the reward of our efforts to strengthen partnerships to increase stopover visitors to our shores,” he said in a statement.

“The route will help satisfy that demand and it will also help Bahamians get to and from Florida easier.”

Cooper said Miami is a key market for the country as over 70,000 visitors entered The Bahamas from the district during the first six months of 2023.

The direct morning flight, which begins on November 5, 2023, will operate daily on Delta’s Boeing 737-800.

The ministry said they are hoping for the service to operate year-round.
