American Airlines announces winter service expansion to the Caribbean

North American travellers seeking to escape the cold last will now have additional ways to get to the Caribbean as American Airlines (AA) announced an expansion to its winter service.

The expansion will see AA operate more than 2,250 weekly flights to 90 destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean. The airline highlighted that this is a 10 per cent increase in seat capacity compared to winter 2022.

“This coming winter we’re looking forward to adding more service to the destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean that our customers want to visit, including popular spots like Cancun, Montego Bay and Punta Cana, as well as our newest destination, Tortola,” said José A. Freig, Vice President of Operations and Commercial for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Starting December 5, AA will expand its daily service from Charlotte, North Carolina to Belize, Curaçao, Puerto Plata and St Croix.

Flights to Montego Bay, San Juan and Punta Cana will increase to four daily flights.

AA’s flight frequency from Miami to Trinidad, Santiago in the Dominican Republic and Tortola will increase to two times per day.
