Must read

Travellers in Brazil will notice an extra splash of colour at some airports and metro stations as Curaçao has debuted a promotional campaign to entice them to the island when flights between both countries begin in June.

The marketing campaign started in four of Brazil’s largest airports as well as at subway station and train stations: Congonhas International Airport (São Paulo), Santos Dumont International Airport (Rio de Janeiro), Confins International Airport (Belo Horizonte), Santa Genoveva Airport (Goiânia), São Paulo Metro (Subway) and Rio VLT (Light Rail).

The campaign is being sponsored by CCR Aeroportos, the main shareholder of Curaçao Airport Partners (CAP), and is part of the company’s efforts to increase its involvement in promoting the country.

“The search for international trips among Brazilians grows annually. With this campaign, CCR Aeroportos aims to increase the number of visitors from the country to Curaçao, bringing more business and raising the island’s position among the most desired destinations in the Americas.” indicated Mônica Lamas, Commercial Director in CCR Aeroportos.

Flights between Brazil and will be operated by Azul Linhas Aéreas.

Vitor Silva, general manager of Planning and Strategy at Azul shared: “We are excited and ready to start operating this new international route. Curaçao is a fantastic destination, with several paradisiacal beaches, breathtaking walks, and very welcoming people. With the new flight from Confins, the options will become much more comfortable to customers who wish to spend a vacation in the Caribbean, and those from São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Goiânia, Brasília and Vitória will have connections of a maximum of 1h30 at the Minas Gerais terminal. This is possible, because Azul has a capillary air network that connects Customers from various airports.”

CEO of CAP, Jonny Andersen indicated: “We are looking forward to the great possibilities this new destination will bring for the development of our airport. A new market brings along growth and also a great opportunity to learn more from another country, the culture, its people and their expectations. This is what we’ve been working hard for; developing our airport and ensuring it serves as a catalyst for the economy of the island”.
