King Willem-Alexander, Her Majesty Queen Máxima and Catharina-Amalia, the Princess of Orange received a warm welcome as they arrived in Sint Eustatius for the fifth leg of their Dutch Caribbean tour.
The royals, who are spending one day on the island, have a packed schedule that takes them across the kingdom’s second-smallest territory.
Their first engagement will be a walk through the historic centre of Oranjestad, where the royals will engage locals and learn about the impacts of slavery on Statia.
The Royal Couple and the Princess of Orange will then join a debate with Statian youth.
After lunch with various residents of Sint Eustatius, the King, Queen Máxima and the Princess of Orange will visit Zeelandia Beach where they receive an explanation about nature management on the island and about the annual Beach Clean Up of Statia.
The group then visits a community garden where they talk to farmers about the food supply on Sint Eustatius.
The visit to Sint Eustatius will be concluded with the royals attending a cultural event at Fort Oranje.
