Bahamas | The Ministry of Labour & Immigration announces a Job Fair with IHOP

The Ministry  of Labour & Immigration, in conjunction with the Department of Labour and IHOP Bahamas (International House of Pancakes), will hold a Job Fair on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the Department of Labour Headquarters on Rosetta Street between the hours of 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

In keeping with the government’s commitment to develop strong partnerships with the private sector in continuing efforts to reduce the levels of unemployment in the country, IHOP Bahamas is expected to open two stores in New Providence in the upcoming few weeks and has partnered with the Department of Labour to identify almost two hundred Bahamians to fill all vacancies by end of January 2023.  The first store will be located in the Mall at Marathon and will be opened to the public on or before February 28, 2023. Available positions include but are not limited to:

• Cooks
• Prep-Cooks
• Servers
• Hostesses
• Cashiers
• Beverage Attendants
• Utilities Workers

Interested job seekers are invited to pre-register for the Job Fair by accessing the QR Code that is available on the Department on Labour Facebook page or on the Public Employment Service Unit Portal at www.jobseekersbahamas.gov.bs.  In addition to having an opportunity to obtain gainful employment, jobseekers will be able to register in the Department’s database and have access to other vacant positions in the private sector.

Persons attending the job fair are asked to please bring the necessary documents including resumes, certificates, NIB Smart Card and a government issued identification.  As first and second interviews will be conducted during the job fair, on Saturday, prospective jobseekers are asked to come properly dressed and well groomed. Any jobseekers requiring assistance in obtaining proper clothing/attire can visit any of the Department of Labour three New Providence locations on Rosetta Street, Robinson Road, or Carmichael Road from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm daily.
