REGIONAL EDUCATORS ENDORSE NEW COVID-ERA LEARNING RECOVERY AND ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME

Must read

The COVID-19 pandemic has wreaked havoc on the education system.

Children were away from face-to-face learning for more than one school year, and had to navigate the adjustments to online learning, where it existed.

While that was a much need response to the crisis, the disruption to the education system occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic, created learning gaps that absolutely need to be bridged.

The Learning Recovery and Enhancement Programme for Principals titled Let’s REAP, highlights the deep concern regional organisations like Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) and the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) share about the education crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

They have collaborated to produce a guide that will help educational leaders to usher their institutions into accelerated recovery and enhanced learning outcomes for all students.

Let’s REAP will help educators understand that recovery and accelerated learning cannot happen without the involvement of stakeholders at the school level, ministries of education, the home, and other schools in finding solutions to problems in the education. In other words, all are involved; all are consumed.

You can learn more about this programme during a virtual Town Hall session on Thursday November 18 at 5pm at https://www.youtube.com/c/caricomorg   or https://www.facebook.com/caricom.org
